Are Divorce Records
Part of the Tulare County Records Project?
Like many counties in California that
are seeking to reduce their paperwork load and lower
the cost of public services, Tulare County is promoting
a Records Project. This will be a searchable data base
that residents and others can use to access Tulare County
divorce records, marriage records, property tax assessments,
and other pieces of public information.
Like most other places in California, the county needs
to conserve funds to focus on other areas of service
to residents. Fishing around in filing cabinets for
Tulare County divorce records is time intensive. It
is a better use of county workers time to scan the relevant
documentation into the project database, so that they
can be searched at any time at your convenience.
For some, the thought of having their divorce records
available online is troublesome. However, most public
records merely record the moving party and dates of
the judgments. Many of the finer details about custody
arrangements and financial awards are not included in
the public records.
The Tulare County divorce records included in the database
would also not extend to sealed records. Those cases
are not a part of the public record, and so you wouldn’t
be able to access them online.
The Tulare County system is being integrated with larger
databases, so that even if the marriage and divorce
in question took place in another state, you will be
able to have that information at your fingertips. However,
this integration is not complete at this point. You
will be able to get good results from a local records
search, though, and you can search in a number of ways.
You will be able to do a look up in the system based
on the targeted first and last name, as well as the
type of record sought. |
